The Government of Germany

The Government of Germany is the highest executive authority of the Federal Republic of Germany. It is responsible for shaping national policy, implementing federal laws, and representing the country internationally. Since the start of Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine, the German Government has been one of Ukraine’s key international partners, providing substantial military, financial, humanitarian, and economic assistance. Germany has also supported Ukrainians seeking refuge in the country, contributed to Ukraine’s recovery and reconstruction, backed stronger sanctions against Russia, and supported Ukraine’s path towards European Union membership.
