The post-war reconstruction of Ukraine must be green
The document outlines the key principles and objectives of Ukraine’s green recovery in the wake of the large-scale destruction caused by the war. It identifies potential environmental and development risks, as well as approaches to reconstruction that should take into account the principles of sustainable development and Ukraine’s European integration path.
The authors emphasise the importance of keeping environmental issues high on the policy agenda during the recovery process. The research also considers green reconstruction as a foundation for modernising the economy, strengthening Ukraine’s competitiveness, and supporting Ukraine’s further integration into a climate-neutral Europe.
