Implementation of the EU regulation on drivers’ working time in Ukraine
Aligning Ukraine’s road transport legislation with EU standards requires not only changes to the rules but also an effective system for enforcing them. Implementing requirements on drivers’ working and rest times will require stronger enforcement, digital infrastructure and wider use of tachographs, creating additional costs for both the government and businesses.
The document analyses the economic and social implications of the reform, including compliance costs, risks for small carriers and the need to modernise the enforcement system. At the same time, compliance with European rules could improve road safety, competition transparency and the reliability of logistics.
