Center for International Private Enterprise, CIPE

The Center for International Private Enterprise (CIPE) is an international nonprofit organization founded in 1983 that promotes private sector development, market-oriented economies, and democratic governance. Working with local partners across emerging and developing economies, CIPE helps create transparent, fair, and stable business environments.

CIPE’s global network brings together business associations representing millions of small and medium-sized enterprises, government institutions, think tanks, and civil society organizations. Together, they work to remove barriers to economic participation, expand opportunities for businesses, and foster sustainable economic development.

Through public-private partnerships, policy research and analysis, and technical assistance, CIPE supports practical reforms in international trade, regulatory policy, property rights, e-commerce, and transparent governance. CIPE is an affiliate of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, a core institute of the National Endowment for Democracy (NED), and a co-founder of the Global Alliance for Trade Facilitation.
