New Monthly Enterprises Survey №50, June 2026
The Institute for Economic Research and Policy Consulting (IER) has released the 50-th monthly enterprise survey “Ukrainian business in wartime” for June 2026. The survey captures the views of Ukrainian business leaders on current business conditions, key challenges, and expectations for the coming months.
Main results of the 50-th monthly enterprise survey:
- In June 2026, business attitudes stabilized and showed slight improvement. In particular, long-term uncertainty declined, month-to-month business performance indicators regained momentum, and short-term expectations stopped deteriorating. The main challenges facing businesses remained labor shortages, rising prices, and security risks.
- Long-term uncertainty declined in June. At the same time, businesses’ long-term expectations also decreased slightly.
- Medium-term uncertainty remained largely unchanged for the third consecutive month, both with regard to the overall economic environment and the business activity of enterprises.
- Expectations for the next six months also remained broadly stable.
- The year-on-year pace of recovery improved slightly following two months of deterioration.
- Month-to-month business performance indicators improved significantly after weakening in the previous month.
- Short-term expectations halted their downward trend and remained largely unchanged.
- The trend toward slower price growth over the next 3–4 months continued; however, the importance of rising prices as an obstacle to business development remained high.
- No significant changes are expected in the number of workers or the number of workers on forced leave over the next 3–4 months.
- At the same time, the difficulty of finding both skilled and unskilled workers declined significantly.
- The main obstacles to business operations remained labor shortages, rising prices, and security risks, with only minor changes in their respective shares.
This survey uses a panel sample that includes 500+ enterprises located in 21 of 27 regions of Ukraine, including Vinnytsya, Volyn, Dnipropetrovsk, Zhytomyr, Zakarpattya, Zaporizhzhia, Ivano-Frankivsk, Kyiv, Kirovohrad, Lviv, Odesa, Poltava, Rivne, Sumy, Ternopil, Kharkiv, Khmelnytskyy, Cherkasy, Chernivtsi and Chernihiv regions and the Kyiv city.
