The Impact of Ukraine’s European Integration on Poland’s Agricultural and Processing Sectors
Ukraine’s accession to the EU will reshape the agri-food markets of both countries. For Poland, this means not only new opportunities for cooperation with Ukrainian businesses, but also increased competition for farmers and producers. The potential impact on Poland’s agricultural sector was the focus of a discussion organised by the Warsaw Enterprise Institute (WEI) and the Institute for Economic Research and Policy Consulting (IER).
The event focused on competition, access for Ukrainian products to the European market, and the costs of adapting to EU standards. At the same time, participants highlighted not only the risks but also the opportunities – including joint processing projects, increased trade, and opportunities for Polish and Ukrainian businesses to enter third-country markets.
