A Common Green Future? Ukraine’s EU Integration and Its Economic Impact on Poland
Europe’s green transition is changing the business environment and creating new challenges for industry in Ukraine and Poland. How is EU climate policy affecting the competitiveness of businesses in the two countries, and what opportunities does it create for Ukraine’s future reconstruction? These issues were at the centre of a discussion organised by the Warsaw Enterprise Institute (WEI) and the Institute for Economic Research and Policy Consulting (IER).
The event focused on key EU climate policy instruments – the EU Emissions Trading System (ETS) and the Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM). Participants discussed the risks for industry, the costs of the green transition, and how Ukraine should prepare for the new rules of the European market.
