Macroeconomic Imbalance Procedure: how to implement in Ukraine?
The introduction of the Macroeconomic Imbalances Procedure (MIP) is an important part of Ukraine’s European integration process and one of the instruments for ensuring long-term macro-financial stability. The MIP is part of the European Semester and involves the systematic monitoring of macroeconomic risks, identifying them, and developing measures to prevent and correct imbalances.
The documents outline the principles governing the MIP, its role within the EU’s economic surveillance framework, and the key steps required for its implementation in Ukraine. Particular attention is paid to institutional coordination, aligning the budgetary process with the European Semester cycle, harmonising statistical approaches, and strengthening the capacity of public authorities.
