Trade Facilitation Monitoring in Ukraine №103

The July issue of “Trade Facilitation Monitoring in Ukraine” covers key legislative initiatives and developments in customs policy that are relevant to Ukraine’s European integration, the development of international trade, and the modernisation of customs administration.

The main focus of this issue is the Cabinet of Ministers’ resubmission of the draft new Customs Code to the Verkhovna Rada. Based on the EU Customs Code, the draft is a key element in fulfilling Ukraine’s commitments under the EU accession negotiations and will help bring Ukrainian customs legislation into line with European standards.

The issue also examines proposed amendments to the Customs Code concerning the customs clearance of international postal and express shipments. The proposed legislation introduces new rules for taxing imported goods purchased through online marketplaces and aims to align Ukrainian legislation with EU requirements.

Another key topic is the digitalisation of customs procedures. In particular, the issue highlights the successful testing of the Risk Profile Manager software and information system, which is expected to improve the efficiency of customs risk management.
