Ukrainian path to the EU. Polish experience. Pharmaceutical sector

The report was prepared as part of the project “Ukraine’s Path to the European Union. The Polish Experience”, implemented jointly by the Warsaw Enterprise Institute (Poland) and the Institute for Economic Research and Policy Consulting (Ukraine).

Key components of the project include expert seminars and sectoral reports focusing on sensitive areas of the economy that may, on the one hand, be sources of competition and potential disputes between Polish and Ukrainian businesses and, on the other, offer opportunities for cooperation and complementarity between the two economies.

This report focuses on the pharmaceutical sectors in Poland and Ukraine. It examines the current state of the sectors, their key challenges and development opportunities in the context of European integration. It also looks at pharmaceutical market regulation, the alignment of Ukrainian legislation with EU standards, the impact of the war on Ukraine’s pharmaceutical sector, and prospects for cooperation between Polish and Ukrainian companies, particularly in pharmaceutical manufacturing, supply chains and clinical trials.

The report is available below in both English and Polish.
