Ukrainian path to EU. Polish accession experience

2024_01

Project objective: to support Ukraine’s preparations for future EU membership by drawing on Poland’s experience of European integration, economic reforms, and the experience of Polish businesses operating in the European market. Particular attention is given to practical lessons that may be relevant for Ukraine as it adapts to EU requirements.

The project is implemented jointly by the Warsaw Enterprise Institute (Poland) and the Institute for Economic Research and Policy Consulting (Ukraine). Its key components include expert seminars and sectoral reports, providing a platform to discuss practical aspects of European integration and Ukraine’s future EU membership.

The project focuses on sensitive sectors of the economy that may, on the one hand, be sources of competition and potential disputes between Ukrainian and Polish businesses and, on the other, offer opportunities for cooperation and complementarity.

These sectors include:

  • energy;
  • road transport;
  • pharmaceuticals;
  • agriculture;
  • construction;
  • wood production.
