Igor Burakovsky

Igor Burakovsky holds a Doctor of Economics degree and is a Professor at the Department of Economic Theory at the National University of Kyiv-Mohyla Academy. His research focuses on economic reform challenges in transition economies, economic integration processes, international trade, and trade policy.
He has participated in international research projects and completed research fellowships in the United Kingdom (the University of Birmingham), Japan (the Economic Planning Agency and the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan), and the United States (as a Fulbright Scholar at Stanford University).
He teaches courses in International Economics and the Theory of International Trade. Prior to joining the Institute, he worked as a Senior Economist and Project Manager at the Kyiv Center of the EastWest Institute.
