The Recovery Spending Watchdog №6, February 2024
The Institute for Economic Research and Policy Consulting, the Centre for Economic Strategy, and Technologies of Progress have presented the sixth issue of The Recovery Spending Watchdog.
The report covers the regulatory framework, the findings of RDNA3, the progress and financing of reconstruction, procurement analysis, journalistic investigations, and monitoring of specific areas, including the restoration of water supply systems and demining. It also examines the use of construction waste in recovery.
The special focus of the sixth issue is accessible reconstruction. We examine the current state of accessibility in the recovery process and identify the next steps: raising awareness among local authorities, improving construction standards and harmonising them with EU rules, ensuring adequate funding for the “build back better” principle, and continuing to monitor the accessibility of facilities.
